“Botswana is an outstanding destination for international investment. It is a jurisdiction governed by stability, predictability, and respect for due process. We’ve already invested significant capital in Botswana in purchasing and restarting Tataki Mine and are committed to the country’s long-term development,” said GCR Chairman Cevdet Caner.
GCR Group is a U.S. firm committed to buying high-quality mines, investing in modern mining and processing methods, re-energizing them, and operating under rigorous environmental, social and governance frameworks. In addition to Tataki Mine, the company owns a copper mine in Chile, Minera Tres Valles, and is planning further expansion into new jurisdictions.
On Sunday, GCR hosted an opening night celebration on the sidelines of Mining Indaba, where the company’s leadersip met with over one hundred friends of the firm and new partners. “We believe the green transition needs diversified, transparent, and geopolitically-sound supply chains. At Mining Indaba, we are here to deepen relationships with governments, financiers, OEMs and local communities to further scale operations,” added Caner.
